Edge Ai Surveillance

Transfrom your existing IP Camera to AI

Hermes Network Edge AI is a cutting-edge solution that transforms any standard IP camera into a powerful agentic AI surveillance system, enabling real-time object detection, facial recognition, and weapon surveillance directly at the edge—without relying on cloud latency. Powered by Hermes’ SD-WAN orchestration and intelligent compute nodes, this edge-based AI platform enables IP cameras to go beyond passive recording and become autonomous agents capable of perceiving, analyzing, and acting in dynamic environments.

Autonomy Level:

Level Detections Actions Example
1: Passive Observation Merely detects and records (e.g., CCTV with AI labeling) No action or decision-making AI tagging “person with red shirt” in video
2: Active Monitoring Detects and notifies or flags anomalies Human-in-the-loop for decision Notifying staff if crowding exceeds threshold
3: Semi-Autonomous Action Detects and makes decisions within predefined rules Limited scope of action (e.g., alerts, locks, reroutes) Auto-lock when unauthorized access is detected
4: Fully Autonomous Surveillance AI can make contextual decisions Can escalate or de-escalate and act across multiple systems Weapon detected → lock exits → alert law enforcement → begin evacuation protocol

Important Considerations:

IP Camera Video Source Types:
Different IP cameras support different video streaming protocols (e.g., ONVIF, RTSP, FFMPEG) based on the camera’s capabilities

external storage SSD requirements depend on how many cameras and microphones you plan to use, and the resolution of the cameras. For general use, a 200 GB SSD is recommended, but this can be adjusted based on your specific needs.
